The 975LD is the first bait casting reel to feature Penn’s renowned International pre-set lever drag system. A 104 degree quadrant provides full free spool, strike and full drag position while Penn’s HT100™ drag washer and Rotary-Tuned stainless steel pressure plate provide super smooth performance across the range. The Penn 975LD Baitcast reels are designed for some serious fishing, with machined, stainless main and pinion gears. Many of our competitors use a softer metal than stainless. Distinctive pure gold color separates Penn from the impostors.
